AKO Pinch Valves: Powder Coating and Sandblasting
In powder coating and sandblasting plants, extremely abrasive solids such as blasting media and powder overspray meet process steps in which cleaning liquids and waste water must also be handled. AKO pinch valves with abrasion-resistant elastomer sleeves withstand constant contact with blasting media and powder particles considerably better than conventional shut-off devices while remaining dust-tight.

Case study
A window frame coating company struggled with frequently failing third-party sleeves, which led to downtime and high maintenance costs. After switching to AKO VF valves (DN40, 50, 65 and 80) with abrasion-resistant sleeves for powder extraction from the coating booth, there were no further failures; the expected sleeve service life is around six years.
