AKO Pinch Valves: Plastics Industry
When processing thermoplastics, thermosets and elastomers into semi-finished products, moulded parts or fibres, numerous powdered additives and fillers such as carbon black, talc, chalk, graphite, sand or zinc oxide are used – often very dusty and partly abrasive. Thanks to their elastic sleeve, AKO pinch valves close completely dust-tight and can be switched quickly between different additives without extensive cleaning.

Case study
A PVC tile manufacturer needed a wear-resistant solution for dosing PVC powder and talc in 24/7 continuous operation. AKO installed VF pinch valves in DN100 with a natural rubber sleeve that permanently withstands the abrasive material – more than 15 years of trouble-free operation, with a sleeve change only about every three years on average.
