AKO Pinch Valves: Glass Processing and Glassworks
Whether flat glass, container glass, special glass or glass fibre – production is based on sharp-edged, highly abrasive raw materials such as quartz sand, soda ash, potash, feldspar, lime and dolomite, which quickly wear or jam conventional valves with internals in the flow path. Since no components of AKO pinch valves protrude into the flow path when open, they are largely immune to clogging by coarse material, and their wear-resistant sleeve withstands the constant friction for a long time.

Case study
A recycled glass processor had to convey abrasive aggregates such as soda ash, limestone and dolomite free of contamination in bottle production. AKO equipped the plant with VF pinch valves with wear-resistant natural rubber sleeves – the valves have been running there without complaint since 1991.
