The SMC series AFF, AM and AMD form a three-stage filter chain for central compressed air preparation: main line filter, mist separator and micro mist separator. They remove water droplets, oil and particles without the need for a separate water separator.

- AFF (main line filter): filtration 1.0 µm
- AM (mist separator): filtration 0.1 µm
- AMD (micro mist separator): filtration 0.01 µm
- Separation efficiency according to SMC 99%, 99.9% for the AMD
- Size 30: flow 750 l/min (ANR), ports 1/4 and 3/8 inch, pressure drop 10 kPa or less, weight 0.39 kg, tool-free element replacement, double-layer transparent bowl guard
- Larger sizes: flow 7 to 14.5 m³/min (ANR), ports 1, 1½ and 2 inch, pressure drop 5 kPa or less
- Up to 52% lighter and up to 20% more flow capacity than the previous series (sizes 1 to 2 inch)
Recommended as pre-filter upstream of dryers and finer filters and to protect valves, cylinders and sensors from oil and water. For the best element life, place an AFF upstream of the AM or AMD. The values are manufacturer data and depend on the individual case.
